Sindh police on Friday claimed to have arrested nine suspects including three target killers in separate raids at various parts of the metropolis. According to police sources, Khawaja Ajmair Nagri police had arrested two suspects namely Saeed Bazmi and Sabt-e-Rasool alias Khurram and recovered two repeater, a 9MM pistol and two TT pistols from their possession.
Police said that both suspects were involved in several heinous crimes including target killings at New Karachi, Khawaja Ajmair Nagri, Surjani and Bilal Colony. They said the accused persons during initial course of investigation confessed to have involved in the murder of MQM activist Shahid alias Charbi along with his three friends. They said these detained persons informed police that they left their bodies in a car at Airport area. Besides that they also admitted to have murdered Mohan Bengali and others. Further investigation is in process.
Similarly, Surjani police also claimed to have arrested a target killer namely Safdar alias Kala from sector 4-B Surjani Town and recovered a TT pistol from his possession. Police said the detained person during interrogation confessed to have involved in the murders of over a dozen people including Jamaat Islami activist Nazeer, two Shabab Milli activists, four Pakhtoons and five land grabbers. Police said the accused person belonged to one of the political party and further interrogation was underway.
Meanwhile, Baghdadi police conducted raid in several parts of old city area including Khadda Market, Sanghar Mohalla, SM plaza and other surrounding areas and detained six more suspects with weapons. Later police moved all these suspects to undisclosed location for further investigation. Although police did not disclose their identities, the sources claimed that all these suspects were extortionists.
