Sabzi Mandi police Islamabad has foiled an attempt to smuggle huge cache of drug and recovered 240kg of hashish during special checking of a truck at entrance points of the Capital near Toll Plaza, Senior Superintendent of Police Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik said.
Talking to media men, he said that a truck was stopped by a team of Sabzi Mandi police station being supervised by DSP Asharf Shah, SHO Inspector Abid Ikram at toll plaza on IJ Principal road. This team including Sub-Inspector Athar Khan and ASI Afras Khan searched the truck and recovered 240kg hashish from it.
Two occupants of truck identified as Bakhat Jamal and Jameel were also arrested and investigation is underway from them, which would help to trace their other accomplices involved in this heinous crime of drug smuggling. The SSP said this hashish was being smuggled to Rewat from Peshwar and timely action of the police team foiled this attempt.
