HRW wheat bids steady

Basis bids for hard red winter wheat in the US Plains were steady on Monday, in a quiet market ahead of the Christmas holiday, dealers said. Some farmers inquired about end of the year pricing to help determine if they would sell additional crop now or wait until the new year, an Oklahoma dealer said.
Rainy conditions noted in portions of the US Plains and snow was forecast in some areas creating much needed moisture for the new crop. Mills were expected to be closed at least two days before the Christmas holiday and two days in the week following the holiday.
