Iran government on Sunday reopened Zero-Point trade gate on Pak-Iran border in Taftan area of Chagi district. Deputy Commissioner Chagi, Dr Tufail Baloch told APP that Iranian border force officials had closed zero-point trade gate due to some reasons, which remained closed for trade activities for about three months. The closure of trade gate had caused difficulties and problems for people living along both sides of the border, he added.
He said the district administration of Chagi district remained in touch with Iranian officials, asking them to reopen trade gate keeping in view of the grievances of local people. He said that reopening of the gate would boost local trade as livelihood of thousands of people living along the border in the two countries is depended on trade activity.
The trader community thanked both Pakistan and Iran governments for reopening the Zero-point Trade Gate.
