Regulators shutter banks in Florida, Arizona

Regulators closed two US banks on Friday night, bringing the total number of bank failures this year to 92. In Florida, the Summit Bank, National Association, of Panama City agreed to take over the Premier Community Bank of the Emerald Coast in Crestview, Fla., the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp announced on Friday.
As of September 30, Premier Community Bank of the Emerald Coast had about $126 million in total assets and $112.1 million in deposits. Regulators on Friday also closed the Western National Bank in Phoenix, Ariz. The Washington Federal bank in Seattle, Wash agreed to take over the failed bank, and its three branches will open Monday as branches of Washington Federal.
