President PPP Punjab Imtiaz Safdar Warraich on Saturday said the party has passed a unanimous resolution against clandestine moves to destabilise the parliament. He was addressing a press conference after attending a meeting, presided over by Chairperson PPP Women Wing and sister of President Asif Zardari at the Governor House Punjab.
He said the meeting, attended by the Punjab parliamentarians discussed at length the prevailing political situation in the wake of memo scandal and the follow up developments. The resolution passed during the meeting has vowed to face any challenging situation at any cost and mass campaign movement would be launched to muster support for the party leadership.
The meeting decided to activate party circles in order to mark the December 27 death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto in a befitting manner. He said party caravans from across the province would ensure their presence at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. However, he said, the Rawalpindi division workers would stay in the city and visit the death spot of Benazir Bhutto at the Liaqat Bagh.
Warraich also criticised Nawaz Sharif for undermining the parliament by approaching the apex court on the memo issue. He said Nawaz should file another petition against DG ISI for mustering support against the democratic set up. He also slammed the judiciary for its activism. Responding to a questions regarding President Zardari's visit to Larkana to attend death anniversary of BB, he said the president could visit Larkana after getting doctor's advice.
