Costa quits post as Spain's Davis Cup captain

Albert Costa on Thursday quit his post as Spain's Davis Cup team captain to take up a new position as head of the country's selection committee, the Spanish tennis federation announced. Costa recently steered Spain to their fifth Davis Cup triumph but will end his three-year tenure to head a new committee which will decide who represents Spain in future Davis Cup, Fed Cup and Olympic (2012) tournaments.
"After three fantastic years in charge of the Davis Cup team I take up this new challenge and responsibility with enthusiasm," said Costa, one of the few professionals to win the Davis Cup both as a player and as a captain.
