The Vice Chancellor Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Rajput has said that the establishment of Birtish Alumnai Association of Pakistan Education City in Jamshoro chapter, MUET, is a good omen and opportunity to provide modern techniques in the field of education and research through collective efforts. This he said while addressing at launching ceremony of British Alumni Association of Jamshoro Education city chapter Sindh here at MUET, on Saturday night.
Chancellors of private and Vice Chancellors of the public sector universities included Isra Dr Asadullah Kazi, University of Sindh Dr Nazeer A Mughal, ex-VC MUET Dr Abdul Rehamna Memon, faculty members, senior graduates from British Universities attended the inauguration. The Vice Chancellor, MUET Dr A Q Khan Rajput said that the British Council, Karachi has floated the idea to launch the alumni in the Jamshoro. Because here more than four higher educational institutions are running and playing an important role in the field of research and knowledge through their expertise.
He said that all such graduates who were studied in Britain universities could be available at one platform which provided by the British Council in a very supportive and event full manner. The council agreed to fully support, cooperate and extend its financial support to the Alumni to fulfil its requirements at every level. The Alumni would provide appropriate platform to the ex-UK graduates and coming generations to fulfil their dreams into reality. Project Co-ordinator of the Alumni and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Aslam Uqaili highlighted the objectives of the formation of the Alumni, said that it would come to the expectations of the graduates and researchers. Alumni Manager British Council Ms Sarah Qutub on behalf of the British Deputy High Commissioner Francces Combell assured full support and co-operation to the project of alumni. She said that the council would also help, strengthen and networking of the alumni.
The council would continue to support other projects in education field to promote and project the research trends among graduates Dean of electrical, electronics and computer Engineering faculty. Professor Bhanwani Shankar Chowdhry speaking on the occasion said that the Alumni would provide better atmosphere to the graduates who could play their individual role in the modern research and new technologies.
