On attaining the age of superannuation, Farida Amjad (IRS/BS-21) officer of Inland Revenue Service, presently posted as Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office, Islamabad will stand retired from government service with effect from December 15, 2011.
In this connection, the FBR has issued a notification here on Monday. Farida Amjad has worked on key position at the Board's level as well as field formations during her tenure of service. During his position as FBR Chief International Taxes, she represented Pakistan for initiation of conventions for avoidance of double taxation for promotion of economic activities and strengthening of bilateral relations with different countries.
The FBR had also inked various conventions for avoidance of double taxation during her position as FBR Chief International Taxes. She also worked in Large Taxpayer Units (LTU) Islamabad and other important positions at the RTOs during her service. Having rich experience of direct taxes, Farida Amjad was expert on international tax laws and double taxation agreements with various counties including proposed avoidance of double taxation agreement with the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) countries.
