ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday sought a report from the Drugs Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) regarding steps taken to stop use of sub-standard stents to open narrowed or clotted heart arteries of patients in hospitals.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar while hearing a suo moto case regarding non-provision of quality stents in hospitals, sought explanation from DRAP for not submitting the report within stipulated time as per its earlier directive and directed to submit the same within 24 hours.
The chief justice also asked about test report of the stents sent to Germany.
The case was adjourned till Thursday.
