The Supreme Court on Thursday fixed hearing of constitutional petitions relating to alleged Memorandum to Admiral Mike Mullen by Hussain Haqqani, former Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, on December 19 and has issues notice to Attorney General for Pakistan, stated a press release issued here.
It added that in pursuance of the order of the 9-member bench headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan on December 01, wherein the consent of Tariq Khosa was sought to work as Commission. Khosa informed the Registrar of this Court showing his inability to undertake the assignment. The matter was placed before the Chief Justice of Pakistan who directed the office to circulate the note to all the Judges who were members of the Bench for their information and opinion.
In pursuance of the above order of the CJP, all the Justices opined to fix the case in the Court and the Chief Justice also agreed with the opinion of the Judges that the case may fix in Court on December 19 (Monday) and notice was issued to Attorney General for Pakistan accordingly.-PR
