The Swiss franc trod water on Thursday as traders mulled over whether European leaders will agree on a plan this week to ease the debt crisis and whether the Swiss National Bank will shift the franc-euro peg ahead of or at its policy meeting next week.
The franc held on to Wednesday's gains against the euro and the dollar, when robust Swiss employment data had buoyed the Swissie. The franc edged 0.1 percent higher against the dollar compared to the New York close, trading at 0.9221 francs per dollar at 0810 GMT. The franc was steady against the euro at 1.2378 francs per euro.
