Nishter Colony police encounter: LHC disposes of petition seeking reinvestigation

The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Thursday disposing of a petition seeking reinvestigation of Nishter Colony police encounter directed DIG investigation to hold inquiry and submit his report within ten days. The petitioner Seema Bibi, mother of a constable Asif Bhatti, accused in fake encounter alleged that CCPO, DIG Operations and SP Model Town were interfering in investigation.
Her counsel said the then SHO Nishtar police station was the main culprit, while Asif was innocent. His name had been dropped from the case, as he was a close relative of an additional inspector general of police the counsel added.
