Imran declares assets: Qureshi made PTI Vice-Chairman

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan took lead on Sunday by declaring his assets and asked other politicians to public the detail of their assets too in national interest. He announced the detail of his assets in a press conference at the conclusion of core committee meeting of PTI.
Former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Former Supreme Court Judge Justice Wajihuddin Ahmad and other party leaders were also accompanied him. Khan also made the announcement that Shah Mehmood Qureshi would be the Vice-Chairman of his party. He said that core committee agreed upon a mechanism for new membership of party. Only those would be accepted in the party whose ideas matched with the ideology of the party, he said.
Imran said that leaders of all the political parties must declare their assets because it is a national cause. Replying to a question, he said he did not have any personal vendetta against leaders of Pakistan Muslim League (N). Declaration of assets is a national cause. He alleged that Nawaz always played the politics on personal matters.
He claimed that he and Board of Directors of Shaukat Khanum never received salary from the hospital, adding that he had donated Rs 35 million to the hospital till the year 2000. He promised to leave politics if allegation of getting money from ISI is proved.
Imran said the media now should prod other politicians to present their assets. He said that all his money came from his career as cricketer and he never charged for a single rupee s corruption. The PTI Chief asked why Hussain Haqqani met US officials in violation of protocol. He said he agreed with Nawaz Sharif as memogate scandal is the biggest issue of the day.
He further said that Economic Reforms Act passed in the Nawaz tenure is the biggest loophole that promotes corruption. He said that the Act allows free flow of remittances into the country without the liability to declare the source of money. "The Act is patronising money laundering as it allows the inflow of money in country after paying one percent tax", he said.
On the international front, Imran Khan said that Pakistan should come out of the alliance with the West on the war on terror. "We must give peace a chance as war is no more a solution of our problem", he stressed.
To a question, he said the objective of his address to public rally in Karachi was to gather the industrialists, business communities and public at a single platform. He stressed that present government must bring a shift in foreign policy.
Former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that boycott of Bonn International Conference on Afghanistan would not be in the interest of Pakistan. He suggested Pakistan must dispatch its ambassador who would attend the conference as an observer. He said this would help to strengthen the point of view of Pakistan. He said Pakistan should pursue passage of a resolution in Bonn conference against the unprovoked strike of Nato against Pak Army. Pakistan has very important position in restoring peace in the regional of South Asia, he said.
He further challenged the Zardari for his claim as spiritual son of late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. He said Asif Ali Zardari failed to bring the murderers of Benazir Bhutto to justice and he was charged of infidelity during her life.
