FIA Multan arrests ECP official from Bahawalpur

MULTAN: FIA Multan has arrested an official of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Bahawalpur on charge of bribery.

The FIA officials said Junior Assistant Election Commissioner Shabir Ahmad was arrested in a raid conducted by FIA team Incharge Inspector Ansar Abbas, ASI Zeeshan Munir Khan under the supervision of Magistrate Nayyar Abbas at Bahawalpur on Tuesday.

Tainted money was also recovered from the accused and he was shifted to FIA circle office Multan.

The official was accused of receiving Rs 10000 as illegal gratification from complainant Adnan Manzoor r/o Bahawalpur for providing record to him.

Deputy Director FIA Multan has announced to award appreciation certificates to the raiding team.
