Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) organised a rally while religious parties staged three protest demonstrations on Friday in Multan to protest against the unprovoked Nato attack on two checkposts and killing 24 soldiers. More than 150 activists of Jamaate-e-Islami staged a protest demonstration at Chowk Kutchery under the leadership of Waseem Akhtar provincial Amir of JI, Rao Zafar Iqbal and Asif Ikhwani.
JI staged a demonstration on Friday (today) across the country on the appeal of the JI Chief, Syed Munawar Hasan. Protest rallies and public meetings to be held in the federal and the provincial capitals after Friday prayers. Participants were shouting slogans, "America ki Barbadi tak jang jari rahay gi, "Afwaj-i-Pakistan Nato forces ko dandan shikan jawab dain. They were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans, 'stop doing the thankless job for Nnato' 'we are united against enemy.' Jamiat-Ulema-i-Islam (Fazal-ur-rehman group) and Aalmi Majlis Tahaffuz Khatm-e-Nabuwat organised a joint rally to condemn the US aggression in Pakistan.
They burnt the US flag and chanted slogans against the US and its allies. Jamaat-ud-Dawah also organised a rally which was joined by about over 100 activists who were shouting slogans, 'America ka aik hi ilaj, Aljihad, Aljihad'. Pakistan Muslim League-N (Women wing) also staged a demonstration and burnt the US flag at Chungi No 8 under the leadership of Sultana Shaheen. Around 40 women joined the protest.
They were chanting slogans against the Nato forces, US and Pakistani rulers. PTI on Friday organised a big rally under the leadership of Mehr Arshad Siyal which was attended by a large number of farmers, PTI activists to express solidarity with armed forces and to condemn the Nato/ISAF forces for attacking Pakistani checkposts and killing 24 soldiers. They also burnt the US/Nato flags. City Police Officer Mian Muhammad Javed said that the rally was peaceful and about 300 people mostly youths joined it.
