LONDON: European stocks fell at the start of trading on Monday, with markets reacting to developments in Europe's debt crisis, and the death of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il which raised geopolitical concerns.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index dropped 0.74 percent to 5,347.32 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 shed 0.88 percent to 5,651.74 points and in Paris the CAC 40 index slid 1.01 percent to 2,942.34.
