Ramiz Raja identifies Pakistan team's major problem

Former Pakistan captain turned commentator Ramiz Raja has identified Pakistan’s batting major issue, which according to him is their lack of game against the short ball.

In his tweet on social media, Raja was of the view that most players are ‘playing from the crease’ and are always expecting a short ball. The shortcoming, however, can be overcome using proper footwork and balance, he said.

“One major problem with this Pakistan batting is it’s shortcoming against the short ball. Most batsmen are playing from the crease with weight shifted on the back leg expecting a rib roaster all the time! Footwork and balance goes for a toss,” Raja posted on social media.

Ramiz Raja wants Yasir Shah out of BBL

Earlier, Raja called to get leg spinner Yasir Shah back from the Big Bash League for the remaining One Day International series with the New Zealand. Raja was of the view that Shah would form a formidable spin attack with fellow leggie Shadab Khan against the Kiwis. Shadab was the pick of Pakistan bowlers today, claiming three wickets for 42 runs in his 10-overs.

He further demanded from the country’s cricket governing body to get rid of non-performing players from the team.

“This avalanche of embarrassing defeats against New Zealand must strengthen our resolve to get the deadwood out of the team! If this progressive capitulation is not an eye opener what is?” he tweeted.
