PM Abbasi to open Lyari Expressway in January

 KARACHI: Prime Minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will inaugurate the Lyari Expressway during his current month visit to Karachi, said Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Zubair here Monday.

Visiting the Karachi Goods Carrier Association (KGCA) central office, on the invitation of office bearers of the association, the Governor assured that 1.5 kilometer long strip between Hub River Road and Truck stand, in need of repair as well as partial construction, will be urgently handled.

"The issue will be raised before both the provincial and federal governments ensuring that the long pending difficulties faced by KGCA and other commuters are duly addressed," he said.

"My responsibility is to help facilitate the people," added the governor mentioning that Green Line project fast underway in the metropolis with the support of federal government will also be completed within the stipulated time period.

"Pakistan is on its way towards progress and prosperity," he said adding that as per requirement each and every stakeholder will be facilitated.

Sindh Governor said infrastructure development in the industrial areas is therefore being accorded top priority with equal attention towards upgradation of means of transportation and communication on modern lines.

"M-9 project connecting Karachi and Hyderabad is a manifestation of this very approach," he said.

Sindh Governor appreciated contribution of goods transporters to the national economy and said being an important stakeholder their genuine concerns will be duly addressed.

KCGA President Noor Khan apprised the Governor about series of challenges faced by them due to varied factors and also thanked him for being the first government representative to visit their office in 20 years' time.
