SUNDAY OCTOBER 09: SBP overnight Repo/Reverse-Repo rate reduced to 12 percent

KARACHI: The SBP Overnight Reverse-Repo (Ceiling) rate has been reduced from 13.50 percent to 12.00 percent pa. According to a circular issued here on Saturday, the SBP Overnight Repo facility will be available at 9.00 percent pa. This will serve as the 'Floor' for the Interest Rate corridor. Hence, the Floor and Ceiling levels for the interest rate corridor are 9.00 percent and 12.00 percent pa respectively (ie width of 300 bps).
All the above changes are effective from October 10, 2011, while other instructions on the subject shall, however, remain unchanged.
