Notices issued to respondents in petition against Railways

The Lahore High Court issued notices to respondents in a petition against Pakistan Railways praying to restrain the railway authorities to get railway engines on lease from America. The petitioner Chairman Pakistan Tahrik-e-Inqalab Rana Ilamdin Ghazi contended that 400 engines are waiting for their repair but respondent authorities instead of repairing these engines and bring them on track has decided to take 50 engines on lease.
He said respondent railways authorities would sale out the 400 engines in scrape and would cause damage to the public exchequers in millions of rupees. He, therefore, prayed to the court to direct the respondent railways authorities to get repair the railway engines instead of taking the engines on lease.
