Islamabad Police busted four notorious gangs of outlaws involved in dacoities, vehicle theft and other crimes and recovered stolen items worth Rs 4 million along with two cars, four motorcycles and one kalashnikov. The Criminal Investigation Agency of Islamabad played a vital role in busting the gangs and nabbed 24 criminals, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Islamabad Muhammad Yousaf Malik here on Monday.
Addressing a press conference, the SSP Islamabad said that police teams arrested eight Afghan nationals, a proclaimed offender and eight other outlaws involved in various crimes. He added that during initial investigation, the nabbed persons confessed to their involvement in several thefts and dacoities in the city. He said police also recovered gold ornaments, two motorbikes, one car, Kalashnikov, two 30-bore pistols and electronic equipments from their possession.
He said that out of the arrested persons, eight were Afghan nationals and identified as Mir Baz son of Abdul Manan, Rahim Ullah son of Ameer Aman Khan, Syed Karim son of Muhammad Hanif, Abdul Hadi son of Khan Jan, Nizam Uddin son of Behram Khan, Sher Dil son of Khush Dil, Karim Ullah and Abdul Wahab.
Giving names of other accused, the SSP said that they were identified as Mushtaq, Vikram Masih residents of Narowal, Muhammad Riaz resident of Khanewal, Khuram Ali Abbassi son of Saghar Akbar Abbassi resident of Muzaffarabad, Nemat Ullah resident of Rawalpindi, Shakeel Ahmed resident of Rawalpindi, Hafeez ur Rehman resident of Jhelum, Iftikhar Ahmed resident of Rawalpindi, Umer Khan resident of Rawalpindi, Muhammad Ilyas, Muhammad Faraz, Ali Raza, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Yousf and Muhammad Abbas. People present on the occasion thanked SSP Islamabad and personnel of Islamabad police for their successful action against the criminals. The SSP also handed over to the owners the valuables collected from the criminals.
