Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday strongly condemned the brutal police action to stop its Kisan Insaf rally and vowed that despite these tactics of Sindh rulers the party would continue to raise a strong voice for the rights of exploited growers.

According to details, PTI started its Kisan Insaf rally led by PTI Sindh executive vice president Haleem Adil Sheikh from Hyderabad, which was participated by a large number of PTI office-bearers, workers, citizens and growers.

When the rally reached the Karachi Bypass, heavy contingents of police tried to stop the rally and they brutally beat up the PTI workers.

However, the rally in leadership of Haleem Adil overcame all these obstacles and resumed its onward journey and reached Nooriabad, where it was warmly welcomed and showered with rose petals. Later, the police commandoes again closed the road by placing barriers, but the PTI workers removed them and started their journey towards Karachi.

On the other hand, hundreds of PTI workers reached the Insaf House Karachi to protest against the atrocities of police. A heavy contingent of police also reached there and besieged the Insaf House.  However, PTI Sindh President Dr Arif Alvi strongly condemned the police action and said that the government is even afraid of a peaceful rally.

He said besieging the office of a political party is an undemocratic steps and a strong protest would be made against it.  However, Haleem Adil Sheikh said that the Zardari mafia through their henchmen tortured our workers and tried to stop our rally. He said police placed containers at different points of the highway to stop our peaceful rally.

He said the days of police atrocities in Sindh have already been numbered. He said we strongly condemn the police torture on our workers. He said the rally would reach the CM House at all costs and we will ensure that the growers get their due rights.

Haleem Adil said that the government of Sindh has been supporting the sugar mill mafia and people in the whole province have been protesting against it but the rulers instead of taking action against this mafia is beating up innocent protestors.

He said we will not leave the growers alone and protests would be continued in whole province till the demands of growers are met.

Later, the rally managed to reach near the CM House, where it was stopped by police again. On the other hand a large number of women workers also joined the rally.
