Pakistan will now be eyeing to reclaim their top spot in the cricket shortest format, as they will take on New Zealand in the three-match series to be played on 22, 25 and 28 January.
Pakistan will have to beat the Blackcaps by 2-1 or better or otherwise draw the series, which is an unlikely to regain the top spot.
Earlier, the Black Caps returned to the top of the MRF Tyres ICC T20I Team Rankings after winning the three-match series against the Windies by 2-0.
New Zealand had entered the series against the Windies in third place behind Pakistan (124 points) and India (121 points) on 120 points, and are currently positioned on 126 points. Meanwhile, Pakistan is placed second with 124 points.
Sarfraz XI achieved the top spot in the ranking when India defeated New Zealand in T20Is back in November last year.
Meanwhile, Pakistan will play five-match ODI series against New Zealand earlier this month.
