The incident that occurred midnight had resulted in death of five cops with other 30 injured, including Waqas who was severely wounded.
Dr Seemien Jamali, Additional Executive Director of JPMC, told APP that emergency had already been declared at the Accident and Casualty Department of the hospital and six cops in need of urgent surgery were operated upon on immediate basis.
"Unfortunately Waqas, whose condition was already critical could not survive while five other are quite stable," she said in reply to a question. "We have not discharged any of the injured policemen and all are shifted to ward and kept under strict medical vigilance," she said.
Dr Jamali said police had also shifted two alleged killers, namely Kamran and Sohail to JPMC. "They were arrested injured from the site of ambush and were first carried to Civil Hospital and due to their condition were shifted to JPMC," said Dr Jamali.
In reply to a question, she said Deputy Superintendent Police of Quaidabad, Badar Shah, was also brought with injuries caused to soft tissue of his leg while his ear was also slightly injured.
