The fact remains that the business community has always played an important and crucial role for the economic well-being of the country. It remained steadfast in the hour of need but it never earned the recognition that it deserves. The LCCI Achievement Awards is an attempt to recognise the efforts of these unsung heroes.
The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry acts as a bridge between the government and the business community and it has always tried to come up the expectations of those who are contributing towards the economy. It is a matter of great pleasure and honour that this year the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry is holding seventh achievement awards which now have become an annual event.
I am thankful to the Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani who honoured us with his presence at LCCI Achievement Awards function. This speaks volumes of Government's interest and encouragement of the business community. I hope that the government would continue to patronise the businesses in the larger interests of the country. I am also thankful to my Senior Vice President Sheikh Mohammad Arshad and my Vice President Sohail Azhar who worked day in and day out to make this event a big success.
