Pakistan have thrashed New Zealand XI by a huge margin of 120 runs in the warm-up game played in Nelson on Wednesday.

Chasing the huge 341 runs total, the Kiwis were bowled out on 221 runs, thanks to the superb bowling from Shadab Khan, who picked four wickets in his 9.1 overs.

Faheem bagged two wickets while Amir, Hasan and Rumman managed to pick one wicket each in their economical spells.

Michael Davidson was the only batsman who showed some resistance against Pakistan bowling. He made 54 before being bowled out by Hasan Ali.

Put in to bat first by New Zealand XI, who won the toss, Pakistan were off to a flying start with openers Azhar Ali and Fakhar Zaman by scoring 104 and 106, respectively. Both the batsmen retired out – an occasional practice in warm-up matches. Hasan, Shadab and skipper Sarfraz Ahmed scored 36, 24 and 21, respectively.

The five-match ODI series will begin from January 6, followed by three T20 internationals.
