Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussein has said Sufi poets like Rehman Baba always gave the message of peace and love through their mystical poetry. Talking to a three-member delegation of Rahman Adbi Jirga (RAJ) Peshawar led by its President Mujahidullah Mujaid on Saturday he said that Rehman Baba served the Pakhtuns nation through his poetry and played a key role in promotion of Pashto language.
The delegation was comprised of Patron-in-Chief of RAJ, Yousuf Ali Dilsoz and Chairman Advisory Council of RAJ, Malik Wazir Khan. Secretary Culture, Azmat Hanif Orakzai and Director Culture, Pervez Khan were also present.
The minister said that Rahman Baba effectively raised voice against the injustices and atrocities in the society. He said that Rahman Baba was not only a Sufi poet but also a revolutionary one who very courageously identified the exploitative elements through his poetry. He added that the poetry of Rahman Baba was based on peace, love, justice, affection and brotherhood and always advocated the oppressed people of the society.
He said that Rahman Baba served the Pakhtun nation through his poetry and played a key role in the promotion of Pashto language. He further said that the provincial cultural department plans to produce dramas and documentaries on the lives and achievements of the prominent personalities of this region like Abdur Rehman Baba, Khushal Khan Khattak, Ahmad Shah Baba, Hamza Baba and Ajmal Khan Khattak and first drama of the series will be produced on the life of great Sufi Pashto Poet Rahman Baba.
