Capital Police held 51 persons including 32 beggars in its crackdown against beggars and criminals, besides busting three gangs of dacoits and gamblers during the drive and recovered six pistols, one car, cash and drugs. Thieves struck thrice in the Federal Capital during last 24 hours and deprived people of their valuables like gold ornaments, computers, laptops and cash.
Aabpara Police busted a gang of dacoits and arrested three members of the gang, while one pistol, one dagger and bullets were recovered from the detained dacoits. Responding to a tipoff, SHO Aabpara Hussain Lasi led team raided a hide out of dacoits in sector G-7/1 and arrested three dacoits Arslan, Kashif and Imran, while two members of the gang escaped. Police recovered one pistol, one dagger, rope and bullets from them.
Police sources said that the detained gangsters during the initial investigation have confessed their involvement in different dacoity incidents in Capital city. SHO Shehzad Town Younus Gujjar led a special team busted a gang of dacoits and arrested four dacoits identified as Nasrullah, Azizullah, Badshah Khan, Nusratullah in raid at a house in Chak Shahzad area. Police recovered three pistols and 14 bullets from them. Shehzad Town Police also busted a gang of gamblers after it raided a gambling den in Khanna area and arrested seven gamblers after impounding stake money worth Rs 51,000 from them. The detained gamblers were identified as Gul Sher, Ghulam Nabi, Muhammad Shahid, Muhammad Rafiq, Muhammad Bashir, Muhammad Asrar and Muhammad Saeed.
