The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) in its meeting on Saturday recommended confirmation of services of 3 Additional Judges of Lahore High Court and 4 Judges of Peshawar High Court, and referred the matter to Parliamentary Committee for appointment of superior courts' Judges. The Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry presided over the meeting of the Commission.
The 3 Additional Judges whose names were recommended by the Commission for permanent appointment in Lahore High Court include Justice Saghir Ahmed Qadri, Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan and Justice Khawaja Imtiaz, whereas 4 Additional Judges of the Peshawar High Court whose names were recommended for permanent appointment include Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel, Justice Attaullah Khan,Justice Miftah-ud-Din Khan and Justice Mian Fasih-ul-Mulk.
The recommendations were finalised by members of the Commission including Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, Justice Nasir ul Mulk and Justice Sair Ali of the apex Court, LHC Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, PHC Chief Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq, Federal Law Minister Maula Bakhsh Chandio, Pakistan Bar Council member Dr Khalid Ranjha and former Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, whereas Punjab Law Minister Sana Ullah Khan and KP Law Minister Arshad Abdullah also participated in the meeting.
