Police encounter: CJ LHC reserves its verdict

Chief Justice Lahore High Court on Wednesday reserved his verdict in a petition filed by Seema Bibi, mother of Asif Bhatti constable, seeking court directions to hold DIG investigation and CCPO Lahore responsible for Nishtar colony encounter instead of her son and others.
The petitioner through her counsel Aftab Bajwa submitted that the subordinate police officials were not responsible for fake encounter as they acted on the instructions of their high-ups including the CCPO and DIG investigation. She has prayed that the fresh investigation in the case be ordered and an officer of DIG rank be entrusted the investigation. The counsel produced mobile phones record of the police officers present on the scene.
