PCO judges: Supreme Court issues notices to AGP, secretary law division
The Supreme Court (SC) Wednesday issued notices to the Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP) Maulvi Anwar-ul-Haq and Secretary Law division, Masood Chishti to appear before the court on August 5 over the non- implementation of its verdict in the case of six PCO judges.
Earlier on July 25, the matter was heard by Justice Amir Hani Muslim in his chamber. The government had assured the judge that it will implement the verdict in letter and spirit but the PCO judges are yet to be de-notified. Justice Amir Hani Muslim later forwarded the matter to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry for further action. The CJP took notice of the non-implementation of the verdict delivered on May 18 and fixed the hearing of the case for Friday (tomorrow) in SC.
