SECP registers record 5,438 new companies in July
Pakistan's SECP reported a record 5,438 new company registrations in July, including international firms, indicating significant business growth across various sectors.

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) said on Thursday that a record 5,438 new companies were registered in July, including five international companies that established offices in Pakistan.
As per a statement, companies from Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, and China entered the Pakistani market, while 112 newly registered companies included foreign directors.
The registrations comprised 3,148 private limited companies, 2,117 single-member companies, 127 limited liability partnerships (LLPs), 28 non-profit organizations, and 18 public companies.
The statement said that Punjab accounted for the largest share of registrations at 51%, with 2,756 companies, followed by Islamabad with 1,053, Sindh with 864, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 450, Gilgit-Baltistan with 180, and Balochistan with 135.
Moreover, the Information Technology (IT) sector recorded the highest number of new registrations with 1,008 companies, followed by trading (845), services (638), construction (348), food and beverages (256), tourism (207), e-commerce (181), education (165), real estate development (162), and corporate agriculture (145).
Meanwhile, in June alone, 4,323 new companies were registered—the highest number ever recorded in a single month.
Registrations of public sector companies also rose by 25 percent during the fiscal year.
