Production activates remain normal on Wednesday and Industrial units were operating smoothly without any power problem on the other side in residential areas people are facing 8 to 18 hours loadshedding in day and night. Chairman Site Association of Industry (SAI), Wahab Lakhani confirmed that there is no loadshedding in industrial areas.
He said that he has received SMS from Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC), which said that the industrial areas have been exempted from loadshedding during Ramadan. He said it is not clear that either loadshedding will be carried out after Ramadan or not and added that if loadshedding is carried out after Ramadan industrialists will be compelled to implement decision of all the chairmen's of the industrial associations of the city and stop payment of KESC dues.
Chairman, Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (Kati), Syed Johar Ali Qandhari said no complaint of loadshedding or power breakdown was received from any part of this industrial area. He also confirmed that KESC has exempted industrial areas from loadshedding during Ramadan.
On the other hand, Rozadars, children's and aged people in different areas across the city spent sleepless night due to continuing prolonged power outages in the residential areas. The Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC) has continued announced and unannounced long hours loadshedding on Tuesday and Wednesday despite Ramadan.
According to details, different residential areas of the city including Liaqatabad, Nazimabad, Korangi, Malir, Saphora goth, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, New Karachi, Orangi Town, Surjani Town, FB Area and New Karachi were most affected areas experiencing worst-ever loadshedding spanning over 8 to 18 hours a day.
The unavailability of electricity has created acute shortage of potable water, on the other hand people faced enormous problems at the time of Iftar and Sehri owing power outage. In many areas there was no electricity at the time of Namaz-e-Taravih.
