To ensure foolproof security arrangements during the holy month of Ramazan, Islamabad Police have introduced a unique and innovative way to depute police personnel to check the cops performing security duty at worship places or doing patrolling duties in various areas.
In the wake of instructions from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Bani Amin Khan, special police teams have been constituted to check cops assigned security duties at worship places, markets or other areas and these teams have been also provided vehicles for patrolling and conduct checking in various areas.
The teams also include 10 officers of Inspector rank who would move in various areas for checking police security duties and help in making these arrangements more effective. Patrolling Officers, on the directions of IGP Bani Amin Khan, have also been assigned responsibilities to check duties of those policemen deployed at pickets especially during Iftari and Sehir timings. IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan has directed senior police officials to brief the policemen deputed for maintaining high vigilance. He also ordered for strict security at entry and exit points of the city and kept strict monitoring of those coming in the city or leaving it.
All the SDPOs and SHOs have been directed to personally supervise the security arrangements during Ramazan and ensure the deployment of police officials or private security guards where it was necessary and in this regard no laxity shall be tolerated.
He also ordered for providing food to policemen performing duties at police pickets during Sehri and Iftari timings in Ramadan. SSP Islamabad Tahrir Alam Khan has said that Falcon from Rescue 15, Commando Vehicles, QRF teams, personnel of CIA Police and Anti-Car Lifting Cell have been also directed to perform security duties and assist in enhancing vigilance at various halting points of the city.
