I want to draw the attention of the CEO of the KESC, the Chief Minister of Sindh and the Nepra chief to why consumers are suffering for the last three months. The KESC management sacked the 4,500 staff but they forced the management to get them all back but the KESC was not interested and even the government was not sincere to resolve the crisis.
Due to the KESC crisis, the consumers faced many problems. The KESC is continuously conducting unannounced or unscheduled loadshedding. The company for the last three months (May-11 to July-11) adopted totally wrong practices for sending an average consumption bill, which is a new method of excess billing.
Electricity bills were not delivered in fair time, but in the last month of June 2011 delayed them as well as in July 2011. When complaints lodged to the KESC, these were not attended on time. If no bills are distributed to the consumers then the KESC about to charge a surcharge amount, it is injustice.
For the last three years, the KESC reached its peak in loadshedding besides sending the excessive bills to its consumers.
