Gram Australia, guwar and Irri rice depict rising trend; other commodities almost stay put
Gram Australia, guwar, rice Irri showed rising trend during the week ended on July 30, the rest of the commodities stayed almost put, ahead of holy month of Ramazan. Grams and barley rates ruled higher on the commodity wholesale markets on the week opening day.
Grams Australia rose by Rs 100 to Rs 4850, while the other type was up Rs 200 to Rs 5050, gram Australia dal rose by Rs 250 to Rs 6000, barley Sindh and Mardan picked up Rs 50 to Rs 2750 and Rs 2800, gur rose by Rs 100 to Rs 6900, while the other type was put at Rs 8500, Khandsari was up by Rs 200 to Rs 8200, cottonseed cakes with bag in Sindh low type gained Rs 40 to Rs 1240, while the other type lost Rs 10 to Rs 1290, castorseed, Lasbela rose by Rs 100 to Rs 2400 and Rs 2450, while castorseed Sindh was up Rs 100 to Rs 2300, wheat old and new bardana shed Rs 30 to Rs 2550 and Rs 2565, yellow peas Canada lost Rs 150 to Rs 3900 and Rs 4100, yellow peas dal Canada shed Rs 350 to Rs 4400 and Rs 4600, yellow peas Ukraine lost Rs 250 to Rs 3800 and Rs 4000 and yellow peas dal Ukraine lost Rs 100 to Rs 4300 and Rs 4500.

On Tuesday guwar from Sindh rose by Rs 500 to Rs 6700 and Rs 6800, Irri 6 low type was down Rs 275 to Rs 3575 and better type was lowered by Rs 250 to Rs 2650, castorseeds low type Lasbela was unchanged at Rs 2400, while better type was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 2500, castorseeds Sindh was recorded at Rs 2300 and Rs 2400, castorseeds cakes lost by Rs 10 to Rs 830 to Rs 840, cotton cakes with bag Sindh low type lost Rs 60 to Rs 1180 and Rs 1200.
On Wednesday Irri 6 Sindh low type as higher by Rs 25 to Rs 3608, while better type rose by Rs 50 to Rs 3700, wheat old and new Bardan shed Rs 25 to Rs 2525 and Rs 2540, moong Sindh was sharply lower by Rs 1025 to Rs 8000, masoor Canada lost Rs 500 to Rs 5500, masoor Canada dal lost same amount to Rs 7000, Urad Burma conceded Rs 200 to Rs 2900, basmati 386 shed Rs 200 to Rs 6000, while the other type shed Rs 300 to Rs 6200, cottonseeds oilcake with bags Sindh low type shed Rs 55 to Rs 1125 and good type lost Rs 25 to Rs 1175.
On Jodia Bazaar Dyes (per pound) Naphthols from China AS 100pc rose by Rs 21 to Rs 196, AS80 PC lost Rs 5 to Rs 180 and ABS gained Rs 15 to Rs 225, golden yellow China XGL 250 shed Rs 15 to Rs 380 Red 3R 250 PC rose by Rs 50 to Rs 450 and yellow 500 PC 7GL up Rs 600 to Rs 1300.
On Thursday Irri 6 Sindh posted fresh gains of Rs 50 to Rs 3650 and Rs 3750, cotton cakes Sindh with bag lost Rs 25 to Rs 1100 and Rs 1150.
On Friday rates did not show any change on the wholesale grain and seed market, as almost all participants were busy in preparations for Juma prayers.
On Jodia Bazaar chemical items edged up. The changes were :.CHEMICAL ITEMS (Per kg): Caustic soda flakes Saudi ended higher by Re 1 to Rs 53, sodium sulphate moved upward by Re 1 to Rs 17, formic acid Pak went higher by Rs 2 to Rs 104 and formic acid Germany was quoted at Rs 110.
On Saturday small business was seen as many traders were on the sidelines in expectations of slide in the prices, as Ramazan is starting from next week. Wheat old Bardan and wheat mew Bardan lost Rs 25 to Rs 2500-2515, other items did not move any side. Irri-6 sindh picked up Rs 50 to Rs 3700-3800, other type retained the overnight levels. Castor seeds Sindh were quoted at Rs 2350-4000, cottonseed oilcakes with bag Sindh low type was down by Rs 100 to Rs 1100 and better type shed Rs 50 to Rs 1150.
On Jodia Bazaar Kirana items moved both ways. KIRANA ITEMS (Per 40-kg): Black pepper Singapore edged up by Rs 400 to Rs 21,200, black pepper Ceylon closed higher by Rs 500 to Rs 21,000, mace went up by Rs 1000 to Rs 10,4000, nutmeg closed higher by Rs 2000 to Rs 34,000, big cardamom ended up by Rs 6000 to Rs 90,000, cloves edged upward by Rs 3000 to Rs 53,000, copra India moved downward by Rs 200 to Rs 7,600, poppyseed went higher by Rs 800 to Rs 3000, sago moved lower by Rs 50 to Rs 3,000, star aniseed ended up by Rs 1000 to Rs 15,000, cuminseed finished higher by Rs 700 to Rs 12,500 and darchini went up by Rs 100 to Rs 6,700.
