Dr Asim assures uninterrupted gas supply to KESC: load shedding to be reduced
Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr Asim Hussain has assured uninterrupted gas supply to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), which would led to reduction in load shedding in Karachi, a private TV channel reported on Friday.
At a high level meeting with the representatives of KESC and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) here at Governor House on Friday, Dr Asim Hussain said that only one week would be given to the defaulters to pay their electricity bills. The meeting was also attended by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan. Following the assurance from the minister of uninterrupted gas supply, CEO, KESC, Tabish Gohar, assured that load shedding in residential areas would be reduced in Karachi from 1st Ramazan.
He said three hours load shedding would be carried out in those areas where electricity was not stolen while four and a half-hours load shedding would be carried out in the areas where electricity was stolen. Gohar also assured that no load shedding would be carried out during Sehar and Aftar timings. Dr Asim Hussain warned that electricity supply to those government institutions, which did not pay their electricity bills, would be suspected. He said that gas shortage would end by the end of 2012.
