Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 102,743 tonnes of cargo including 69,480 tonnes of import cargo, 33,263 tonnes of export cargo and 4,362 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 69,480 tonnes comprised of 20,702 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,153 tonnes of general cargo; 29,466 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,166 tonnes of DAP; 26,300 tonnes of coal and 18,159 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 33,263 tonnes comprised of 28,548 tonnes of containerised cargo; 259 tonnes of general cargo; 3,956 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,355 tonnes of cement; 2,601 tonnes of talcum powder and 500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Nine ships namely Hansa Century, Cap Graham, President Jackson, Marcampania, Honesty, Stolt Viking, Pacific Sapphire, Free Hero and King Honor carrying four container ships, two oil tankers, naphtha carrier, talcum powder carrier and general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz Cosco Kawasaki, Al-Mirqab, Emirates Marine, Neelambari, Falda, Stolt Viking and DL Diamond carrying three container ships and four oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths. Five ships namely Fu Sheng Hai, Falda, Neelambari, DL Diamond and Al-Mirqab with four oil tankers and container ship respectively are expected to sail on Friday, while two ships namely MSC Ayala and Emirates Marine with two container ships are expected to sail on Saturday.
Five vessels viz YM Fuzhou, Kota Azam, APL Guangzhou, Hanjin Beijiang and MT Quetta with four container ships and crude oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Friday, while eight vessels viz Salis, CS Discovery, CSL Ride, Yong Jin, Jin Yuan Men, Nadeem and Atlantic Gemini carrying four container ships, coal carrier, general cargo ship, sulphur carrier and molasses ship respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 133,136 tonnes, comprising 72,761 tonnes of import cargo and 60,375 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 4,951 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 72,761 tonnes includes 36,141 tonnes of furnace oil; 2,494 tonnes of LPG; 6,000 tonnes of palm oil; 1,555 tonnes of chemicals and 26,571 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 60,375 tonnes includes 2,779 tonnes of cement and 57,596 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely CV Paco, CV Nysted Maersk and MT Gas Sulawesi sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while a container ship namely CV Glory is expected to sail on the same day. A total number of nine vessels CV Glory, CV Paco, CV Nysted Maersk, MV Wales-II, Alaska-II, MV Golden Ambrosia, MT Anggraini, MT Gas Sulawesi and MT Karachi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, chemicals, palm oil, LPG and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Sea Lion, Th Symphony, Kassos, Bunga Angelica, Al-Soor-II and Alexi-I carrying furnace oil, palm oil, diesel oil and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A container vessel viz MSC Magali is expected to take berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Friday. Two ships namely CV ACX Hibiscus and MV Hai Yu China are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday. A total number of two container ships namely CV Maersk Idaho and CV CMA CGM Puget are also due to arrive at the Port Qasim.
