Ambassadors and High Commissioner designate separately called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr here on Friday.
Those who called on included Nawabzada Aminullah Khan Raisani, Ambassador designate to Oman, Ms Humaira Hasan, Ambassador designate to Portugal, Rizwan ul Haq Mahmood, Ambassador designate to Spain, Amjad Majid Abbasi, Ambassador designate to Myanmar, Ms Tasnim Aslam, Ambassador designate to Morocco, Afrasiab Mehdi Hashmi, High Commissioner designate to Bangladesh, Jauhar Saleem, Ambassador designate to Bahrain, Dr Fazal-ur-Rehman Kazim Ambassador designate to Cambodia and Muhammad Saleem, Ambassador designate to Swiss Confederation.
The President congratulated the designated Ambassadors and High Commissioner on their new postings and advised them to focus on enhancing Pakistan's bilateral, economic, trade and commercial ties with the countries of their accreditation. The President emphasised that the business community in the countries of their postings needs to be especially encouraged to further explore and avail investment opportunities in Pakistan. The ambassadors designate thanked the President for the trust and confidence reposed in them and assured that they would earnestly work to augment Pakistan's bilateral relations and mutual co-operation with the countries of their respective postings.-PR
