Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has chalked out a special plan for Holy month of Ramazan to meet the traffic related problems and ensure maximum convenience to road users. The plan was finalised by ITP in a special Darbar held here on Friday in consultation with the employees of the traffic police who are performing duties on roads.
SP (Traffic) Mir Vais Niaz, DSP Khadeeja, Programme Manager ITP FM Radio Ayesha Jameel and other officials were also present on the occasion. SSP (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood said that extra efforts are needed to ensure convenience to road users during the holy month. "I realise that cops would be also following the sanctity of the month, but their effort to facilitate road users and faithful will be a great service," he maintained.
Extra deployment of the personnel will be made to make road duty easier for policemen and ensuring relax journey for road users, Dr Moeen said. He said that a focal person will be appointed for complete co-ordination with those policemen performing duties on roads.
Immediate assistance will be provided to them after their one call to this focal person who would also ensure the dissemination of message to public in case of any problem on road through ITP FM Radio 92.4, the SSP maintained. Dr Moeen listened to the problems of the employees and issued directions for their immediate resolution.
He directed to provide umbrellas, search lights, wireless sets to the cops. Several problematic points regarding traffic were discussed in this Darbar and strategy was chalked out to resolve them on immediate basis. SSP (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood and SP Mir Vias Niaz directed to conduct inspection of official vehicles and asked MTO to repair them immediately.
