Bank robbery of Rs 3.3 million in Gulshan Iqbal

At least six unidentified armed robbers looted around Rs 3.3 million from a bank in broad daylight on Friday. According to police, at around 9:50am, the robbers entered in a bank situated at Gulshan Iqbal block 6 in the limits of Gulshan Iqbal police station and held the employees hostages at gunpoint.
They said the robbers completed their operation in leaps and bounds and escaped from the scene along with the weapons of on-duty security guards. They said the on-duty security guards Bahadur and Jahanzaib of a private security company were detained for interrogation. They said the robbers, who wore jeans and T-shirts and snatched two riffles from on-duty security guards, took a bagful of Rs 3.3 million from cash counter.
The police said although the CCTV footages were taken, the images were vague because of inferior camera results. Moreover, they said the eyewitnesses informed police that six bandits came in a van, of them, five entered in the bank, while one of them left in vehicle. Meanwhile, a case 551/11 has been registered on the complaint of Bbank Manager Yousuf.
