The meeting of Standing Committee on Water & Power was held here on Friday with Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah in the chair. The agenda of the meeting was as follow: performances of Iesco, Sepco and Fesco. All the members of the committee were of the unanimous opinion that the people of Pakistan be given relief and respite from electricity load-shedding.
It came to the knowledge of the committee that there are Discos in the country, which are under-performing and are least pushed to get their act together. The Standing Committee directed the CEOs of all the three Discos to eradicate 'kunda culture' and not show leniency towards any official or any officer found guilty in helping out the culprits involved in this crime. It was also proposed that law be made to give exemplary punishment to the culprits.
While apprising the committee about the performance of Fesco, the CEO said that forced load-shedding is being done in the region because of intermittent supply of fuel to the thermal power stations. The committee also asked the authorities to make the schedule of load-shedding in Ramdan in such a way that the people do not face any kind of hardship during Sehri and Iftar hours.
The meeting was attended by MNA5/Members Salahuddin, Nawab Abdul Ghani Talpur, Pir Muhammad Aslam Bodla, Abdul Haq Mian Mitha, Muhammad Afzal Khokhar, Bilal Yasin, Rana Afzal Hussain besides Hamid Khan, Addl Secy. M/o Water & Power, Tariq Muhammad Chattha, CEO Fesco, Muhammad Moosa, CEO, Sepco, Deepehand, CE/CSD, Hesco and other senior officers of the ministry and related departments attended the meeting.-PR
