Meeting of the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee (NJPMC) is scheduled on Saturday (today) under the Chairmanship of Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Chief Justice of Pakistan. The meeting will critically analyse/review data received from High Courts after physical inspection by the Judges of the High Courts and concerned District and Sessions Judges.
The Committee will also be briefed about the outcome of meeting of Registrars, Members Inspection Team and Information Technology personnel which was held today in the Secretariat of Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan.
The meeting will be attended by Justice Agha Rafiq Ahmed Khan, Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, Chief Justice High Court of Balochistan, Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Chief Justice, Peshawar High Court, Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Chief Justice, Lahore High Court, Justice Mushir Alam, Chief Justice High Court of Sindh, Justice Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman, Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Habib-ur-Rehman Shaikh, Secretary, LJCP and Registrars of the Superior Courts.
The meeting will be briefed about the software developed by the Secretariat of Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan for monitoring the performance of courts. The meeting will also review the follow up of the decisions regarding construction model Jail for Islamabad, improvement in the standard of legal education, blood screening of prisoners confined in different Jails across the country. The Committee will also review the procedure for enrolment of advocates to make it responsive to the evolving needs of the legal profession.-PR
