The USAID Power Distribution Improvement Programme (PDIP) on Friday organised a workshop of senior Disco management to introduce latest financial management system as part of the assistance from USAID to Discos to improve their accounting manuals, internal audit management system and preparing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
The workshop was attended by the Chief Financial Officers and Finance Directors of the eight government-owned power distribution companies of Pakistan. This assistance to Discos is provided as part of the US commitment to support the Government of Pakistan in reforming the energy sector and addressing the problems of Discos.
The US Agency for International Development (USAID) implements these assistance programmes, which also support trainings in Information Technology, capacity building of Board of Directors and staff, completion of dams and renovation of power plants. The review and updating of financial management systems shall bring positive improvements in the overall performance of Discos.-PR
