The most-active October copper contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange slipped 0.1 percent to close at 72,750 yuan per tonne on Thursday, after closing flat the previous day. Shanghai aluminium jumped 1.1 percent to 18,505 yuan. Stocks of the metal have been decreasing on both exchanges over the past few months.
