Bullish trend was seen on the money market on Thursday as dollars' supply improved in process of trading, dealers said. The rupee rebounded as it gained 11 paisa versus dollar for buying 86.45 and picked up eight paisa for selling at 86.50, they said.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the fourth Asian trade euro struggled to find fans in Asia on Thursday, on renewed fears of contagion in Europe, while the US dollar remained on the defensive as Washington showed no signs of progress in debt agreement.
The dollar and euro both sagged against yen after Japanese Economics Minister Kaoru Yosano was quoted by Jiji news agency as saying currency intervention as big as one to two trillion yen ($13-26 billion) would be quite difficult.
Indian rupee was trading at Rs 44.08 versus dollar, Malaysian ringgit was available at 2.9565 in terms of the greenback and Chinese yuan was at 6.4434 in relation to the US currency.
Inter bank buy/sell rates for taka against dollar on Thursday: 74.65/74.75 (previous 74.66/74.75). Call Money Rates: 7.00-10.50 percent (previous 7.50-12.00 percent.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee did not show any change for buying at 86.15 while it rose by five paisa for selling at 86.30, they added. The rupee, however, recovered Rs 1.32 in terms of euro for buying and selling at Rs 123.04 and Rs 123.54, they said.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee shed five-paisa in relation to the greenback in the local currency markets on Thursday.
According to the moneychangers, the greenback opened at Rs 86.10 (buying) and Rs 86.35(selling). In the wake of buying activity, the dollar moved up and closed at Rs 86.15 and Rs 86.40 on buying and selling counters, respectively. However, some of the dealers quoted selling rate of the greenback as Rs 86.35.
On the other hand, the rupee recovered its earlier loss against the British Pound. The pound was purchased and sold at Rs 139.80 and Rs 140.50 on buying and selling sides, respectively, as against Rs 140.30 and Rs 141.00 of Wednesday, the dealers said.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee remained firm against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.
The dollar opened at Rs 86.00 (buying) and Rs 86.30 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 86.00 (buying) and Rs 86.30 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 138.30 (buying) and Rs 138.45 (selling) against same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the last trading hours and closed at Rs 138.30 (buying) and Rs 138.45 (selling).
