Motorway Police late Saturday night foiled an attempt to kidnap and rob the occupants of the truck heading from Hyderabad to Karachi. A spokesman of Motorway Police told APP here on Sunday that the highway robbers intercepted the truck when it crossed the Kotri Toll Plaza near Hyderabad. The Motorway Police led by a DSP while patrolling the area spotted the accused when they were attempting to rob.
However, the team successfully rescued the transporting vehicle and the drivers identified as Nasrullah and Naimatullah. He said that the Motorway Police had to fiercely face the firing opened on them by the robbers, however, no one was injured and the robbers managed to escape.
The truck was loaded with over 300 bags of flour with an estimated value of Rs 0.7 million, the spokesman further added. "Kotri and Hyderabad police have been informed about the incident and follow up measures", the spokesman added.
