The Defence Housing Authority's Administrator underlined the need of frequent interaction between DHA and residents' associations for speedy and pragmatic resolution of residents' problems. A delegation of Association of Defence Residents (ADR) led by its President Attique-ur-Rehman visited DHA's Main Office and held a meeting on Friday with DHA Administrator Brigadier Aamer Raza Qureshi to discuss residents' civic related problems.
The Administrator said DHA was committed to ensure provision of quality living environments and best amenities to its residents. The delegation appreciated prompt and positive decisions given by Administrator on different issues of residents' interest.
On the functioning of desalination plant, the Administrator said that DHA was focused to revive the non-functional Cogen Power and Desalination Plant on a fast track basis, adding with hectic efforts a significant headway had been made in this direction.
Soon, banks involved with the project would release money for undertaking Third Party Evaluation and Route Cause Analysis before comprehensive repairs essential for reviving and making the Cogen plant operational could be undertaken, he said.
On maintenance of new storm water drainage system in DHA, the Administrator stressed that it had proved its functional efficacy and viability during the monsoon rains in the last two years. However it is important that the drainage system be taken over by the agency responsible for its maintenance in future, for its longer life. Similarly overhead Gizri Bridge should also be taken over by the maintenance agency at the earliest. The meeting which was held in a cordial and friendly atmosphere ended on a happy note with both residents and DHA officials expressing their desire of maintaining continued and meaningful co-operation in future.-PR
