Agri Forum Pakistan Chairman, Muhammad Ibrahim Mughal has urged the Cane Commissioner Punjab to play his role in stopping the hike in sugar prices as well as ensuring payment of arrears of cane growers from the mills.
While talking to media after a discussion on 'food requirements of the country and agriculture production', Ibrahim Mughal alleged that office of the cane commissioner is of no use and playing the role of silent spectator over the issue of payment to cane growers or increase of sugar prices. He expressed fear that sugar prices could reach rupees 90 per kilogram and gram pulses Rs 75 per kilogram if government did not intervene in the matter.
